Our county Extension program is responsive to the needs and concerns of our local citizens. Therefore, our staff often takes on special projects which may be unique to our county. These efforts often include promoting local economic development, tourism development and programs in e-commerce.

Quay County Tourism Council

The Quay County Tourism Council meets the second Tuesday of each month at 2:00 p.m. The purpose of the council is to provide a networking opportunity for any business or groups hoping to attract tourism business. The Council co-sponsors Quay County Heritage Dayze in September, holds business receptions, offers hospitality trainings, and works on projects to increase tourism in Quay County. The meetings are open to anyone who is interested. Call 461-0562 to join us.

Teleliteracy Assistance for Business and Communities

The Teleliteracy Assistance for Businesses and Communities or Teleiteracy ABCs project offers participants the basic tools to take advantage of e-commerce and e-government opportunities. Seminars emphasize Internet use as the only viable method to effectively integrate rural communities into the emerging global economy, and the will stress the urgency of acting immediately.
