July 21 4-H Horse Clinic with Jenny Vance
Jenny Vance is a well-rounded horsewoman who will help the beginner or advanced rider in all disciplines. She has applied for her AQHA judges card so is up to date with all the latest rules and trends. This clinic will begin at 8:30 a.m. at the Quay County Fairgrounds Arena. The fee is $15.00. The Clinic is open to Novice - Senior 4-Hers enrolled in the Horse Project.
July 25-26 State 4-H Horseshow
This qualifying event will begin at 7:00 a.m. each morning there is no admission to watch the horseshow. Entries will be posted on this web site when available or you can contact your local Extension Office.
July 25-26 Quay County 4-H Rodeo
This is a sanctioned 4-H Rodeo which will begin at 7:00 p.m. each evening admission to the rodeo is $2.00 for adults and $1.00 for children. To enter the rodeo, contact your local Extension Office. Entry forms will be posted on this web site when available.
July 28 Quay County 4-H Horse Clinic with Valtie Riddle
Valtie Riddle's clinics will touch on all aspects of showing with emphasis on Showmanship. Teaching your horse how to pivot, back straight and presentation of your horse to the judge or judges. This clinic will begin at 8:30 a.m. at the Quay County Fair Arena. The cost is $15.00. The clinic is open to Novice - Senior 4-Hers enrolled in the Horse Project.
July 29, 2008 Catch It Heifer Contest Deadline
If you are a Junior or Senior member who would like the opportunity to compete for a Free heifer, the please consider singing up for the Catch It Heifer Contest. Rules and Applications are available from your club leader.
July 29, 2008 Quay County Fair Entry Deadline
All county fair entries must be entered by 5:00 p.m. July 29, 2008. You must bring your entry forms and money to the Extension Office. Contact: John
July 31 Wrangler 4-H Playday
To participate must be enrolled in 4-H in Quay County and in the Horse or Rodeo Project. Insurance, waivers, and Horse Certificate must be in the Extension Office. No non-4-Hers or cloverbuds on horses please. Playday will begin at 6:00 p.m. Gates will open at 5:30 p.m. Charge is $5.00/night. Points for the series will be collected on a one kid, one horse basis. Events are barrels, flags, poles plus a game. Contact: Wanda Evans with Wranglers 4-H Club

August 4 Quay County Fairboard Meeting
The fairboard will meet at 6:00 p.m. at the fairgrounds, following the brief meeting, the members will set up the Southend of the Fairbarn for the upcoming fair.
